Prince Charming

August 7th, 2006

My prince charming finished painting the bonus room the other night, and it looks beautiful! What do you think about the ORANGE?!

The kids and I spent the entire morning playing in there today as we read books (in the completed “book nook!”), watched a movie, and just enjoyed playing together. I even folded three loads of laundry on the bed while they ate their snack, so we must have spent at least four hours in there!

I would definitely say that Lydia likes the book nook — we read about 30 books together as Steven climbed up and down the stair stool! I’ll have to post pictures of them reading with Daddy later because we weren’t home tonight.

Another part of the room that I love is something that we totally didn’t plan, but it’s really neat. When we were looking through some of Papa and Nanny’s personal belongings, Eric found a couple of paintings that Papa made when he was younger. We held them up to the wall, and they completely matched! Now we can have another reminder of Papa and our families as we are at the desk in there. It’s going to be a fun place, and I feel so thankful and blessed.

I’m not the only one who thinks my prince is charming . . .

The worship pastor and his wife invited us over for dinner Sunday, and their two youngest daughters went “accessory crazy” over Eric! He wasn’t just their prince - no, he was the king! He had to play by all of their rules, though, so I don’t know how much authority he had over his kingdom :) Ha Ha It has been wonderful getting to know them and their six children, who are so full of life and joy! Pretty soon they will be babysitting our new baby I guess and trying to dress him/her up with earrings and nail polish! Children are such a blessing, and so is Christian fellowship.

Lovely! Just like photos in a decorating magazine! (Except the one of King Eric, of course.)

i can’t wait to experience the book nook in person. :) at first when i glanced down at the picture of eric at dean’s, i thought that was your breakfast room, and i thought, “kristi didn’t tell me she painted it blue!!” haha.
