To My Beloved on Valentine’s Day
Ink runs from the corners of my mouth
There is no happiness like mine.
I have been eating poetry.
~Mark Strand
Below is a poem I wrote yesterday for my sweet Eric. Happy Valentine’s Day, my love. Every day is Valentine’s Day with you, except without the chocolate. (He doesn’t like chocolate, folks!) Anyway, I am so in love with you, honey. I am so glad I met you, and I love you so much.
To my Beloved on Valentine’s Day
In foreign dreams thy feet did trod
As happy drops of summer rain
Thou passed along the grateful sod
And lent my heart its joyous gainMy resting brow made memory there
And offered up my Godward plea
I longed for travels true and fair
To introduce my soul to thee‘Twas not a painful length of time
But long enough and steady so
My dearest Savior took His palm
And buried seed within to growAt last, due pilgrim, thou came to take
My fertile heart and make it thine
From deepest dream my frame did wake
And gazing forth, was treasure mine! Our union’s mark has held its place
And onward under Heaven’s view
Devotion girds our love’s embrace
And journey we as dreamers do.

Kristi - Thanks for your comment on my blog. As far as brushes… I just buy the cheap, basic kind because I don’t use them very much. The value pack of 15 or so in a bag work fine. You can find them at Michael’s or Wal-Mart. (They don’t work well with oils, however.) Hope this helps!
Aren’t you so talented!! But, I knew this long ago in maybe middle school… beautiful poem and I’m so happy you’ve found your soulmate! ann
