Dreaming….
Everyone has some sort of dream. Wilberforce’s was the suppression of Slave Trade in England. For the Wright brothers it was to successfully fly an airplane. Martha Stewart proceeded to completely take over K-Mart. Great and terrible leaders throughout the history of mankind have coupled a dream with hard-work and vision and seen the fruit of their labors. I get so excited when I dream, and other times I become quite frustrated and not very fun, but I think part of the greatness of God’s imprint on our hearts is the desire to see our dreams come to fruition before our very eyes. For the Christian I would take it one step further and say that the greatness of God’s imprint involves us seeing God make our dreams into realities and basking in the glory of how and when He does it.
Bottom line: I want my life to make a difference. A big difference. Not just for the here and now, but for eternity. I believe that this short commercial is just the doorway into the true and lasting life, and when I’m gone, I want my short vapor to leave a potent, sweet aroma that attests to the majesty of my Creator.
just above the bottom line: I know that my role as wife and mother is making a difference. God has graciously given me these duties, and it is my joy and calling to fulfill them under His leadership to the fullest. I make a huge difference for eternity every morning when I wake up and ask God to help me serve and love them.
somewhere a few paragraphs above the bottom line: I want to clearly see God bless my life’s dreams. I want to pray with fear and trembling and hear God joyfully shouting, “YES!” to what I ask him to
do through me. I want to dream with childlike faith, with courage, with imagination, and with my whole heart. I don’t want to sit on my couch for too long. I want to rise above my own American expectations of what life is supposed to be like. I want to live with purpose and with my future generations in mind. I want to return to God in a small way my offering for how he has made my life worth living through Jesus Christ.
“Your dreams are too small.”I hope I never see the day when I hear these words. I have some long-time (and recently seeded) dreams hiding in my heart, and I want to share them here. I can’t remember the last dream I had upon my pillow, but these heart-dwelling visions are becoming like a permanent bone in my body.
1. I want to adopt a child.
2. I want to build a cob house (what? i know… i didn’t hear of it until yesterday) and live in it. (seriously!)
3. I want to see my children grow up into adults who love God with passion like a fireball.
4. I want to pare down and live simply.
5. I want to grow more food and sustain our family for less.
6. I want to see people come to faith in Jesus Christ.
7. I want to help a people with no Bible have it written in their own language.
8. I want to continue making web sites for people and love it.
9. I want to homeschool and learn what I never learned with fervor.
10. I want to meet my birth-mother and birth-father for the first time.
11. I want to see my children marry godly spouses and hold tiny grandbabies.
12. I want to fight my sin with more boldness and persistence in prayer.
13. I want to be debt-free.
14. I want to write a novel about an oppressed Eastern factory worker who overcomes her turmoil.
15. I want to own a springer-spaniel.
16. I want to bake my own bread again.
I pray that my God would hear my dreams, and I would see many of them come to pass. What are some of your dreams? Please share!

hey Kristi
I love to dream, too. I find that when we are abiding in Him, our dreams become reality..much more than we could ever hope OR dream. I have many dreams, like you.The balance is trying to not be focused on those dreams (idols) and be focused on Him. Thank the Lord for dreams.
i, too, dream kristi. i dream to be much closer to God than i have ever been. that’s my main desire. i also dream to have children of my own so that i can teach them all about Jesus. my heart’s true desire is to teach a little one how to Pray. i also desire to be a light to all those at my workplace and all of my students. i never want to miss those opportunities.
Hey, Thanks for visiting my place. I wanted to check out yours and was suprised by how many dreams we have in common! Especially 1,3,4,5,6,9,11,12,13&16. Blessings,
