Happy Birthday Merr Merr!
On this day one year ago I was walking around wondering if “this is the day.” Our little baby girl came into our lives, and we have never been the same since. God is so good to us, and today we celebrate her presence in our lives.
Happy birthday to our baby girl, who lights up the room with her smile, stops the entire family with her cry (!), who is sweet and fragile, petite and gentle, and still has no hair at twelve months old! Happy birthday to our sweet blessing from God.
A mother’s prayer for you…
Dear holy Father,
Your ways are perfect, and You are the giver of life and all good things. You have given us this beautiful child, and I know she is Your possession, entrusted to us, to nourish and tenderly love with our eyes on You, our faith in the finished work of Your Son Jesus, and our love fervently planted in Spirit-guided hearts. Please place Your favor on our baby girl, and draw her heart to You every day of her life. Open her eyes to the richest knowledge of Your love, and may the world around her always know that she belongs to You. Give her hope, joy, and great work to do here in Your world with her hands, and feet. Protect her from the evil one, and build a foundation of Your Word in her growing heart and mind. I pray for a man to one day be her husband, that even now he would be living in a loving family and learning about Your Son. Bless our sweet Meredith, in the name of Jesus, and may the rain of Your grace fall on her life like an early-morning shower.

happy birthday sweet merr merr!!!!! oh how we wish we were there to celebrate with you. kristi, i was also thinking today about how this time last year i was trying so hard to keep from calling you every hour on the hour once we knew this was “the day”! i guess merr merr knew i was getting antsy too, so she decided to just fly out in the bathtub! haha!
i am cracking up at beth’s comment. i’ve never thought about her mouth being open in every picture, but she is so right! that’s my girl!! the only time i can think of that i’ve seen her mouth closed is when it’s full of cheerios.
(or the abundant amount of healthy food you give her. but cheerios do keep her quiet!)
i love the slideshow. while i was watching it, it hit me that i never borrowed the cute white overalls w/ red flowers on them (that scream my name) for caroline to wear. i wonder how we forgot that. oooh maybe because my daughter is a chub and is no longer in the position to receive hand-me-downs from your delicate and petite meredith. oh well. just curious though, what size is it? caroline is a shorty and maybe they would fit. they’re sooo cute.
but this post is about meredith, not the overalls or my daughter!!! so happy birthday meredith. we love you so much and miss you all the time. ethan always recognizes your picture on my screen saver slideshow and gets so excited to see those big eyes.

Time flies!
I was just thinking about her being born & I thought it was last September and that her birthday was coming up soon - what a beautiful baby blessed with a beautiful family! I love that sweet prayer for her! Happy Birthday Meredith, a few days late.
