Update on Baby Shepherd
I got an email a little while ago from my friend Emily, and she was laughing and making fun of me because she thought my “Whooo!” post was surely going to be about Shepherd.
I know, now that I think about it, it was pretty lame for me to post about Photoshop Express versus the condition of my baby, but I was going to take a little time to think about it first before writing. I have to write now, though, because I know it is indeed quite silly that the day we had more testing done I post about something rather trivial in comparison instead!
Here is what I wrote to our families earlier in an email:
My spirit … is bright and relieved after our visit to MUSC fetal medicine for our ultrasound today. Many of you in our family already know that the ultrasound showed absolutely nothing of concern this morning, and we are very thankful for that. The markers that were shown at the last visit were completely gone this time, and all of his body parts were measuring as expected for his age. We were praying for God to make our hearts completely ready and content no matter what, and of course we are blessed and relieved to know something definite. We are thankful that he is developing well and is measuring healthy and strong, and we praise God for showing us this clearly! I just wanted to share this with you and thank, thank, thank you so much for all of your prayers for him and our family. Please keep praying that his body will develop beautifully and for the remainder of the pregnancy. Thank you for rejoicing with us and being there for us.
Oh, and ps - He is still a boy.
Saw that VERY CLEARLY. Ha!
So, again, I thank you for stopping by to check on us and for praying for Shepherd as he is growing and making his preparations for arrival in July. I appreciate (we appreciate) your prayers more than you will ever know!
Some of you were asking me to post some “tummy pictures” (no, I will never again after having two children - much less three - wear a bikini, so you need not worry about my taste!). But, you are just doing this to taunt me, right? You know I get gigantic when I am pregnant! Oh well, I will humor you when I can get Eric or someone to take a shot. I am a little over half-way, but I am already starting to feel like the end with Lydia (oh yes, the pants were pulled way up to make Eric laugh — yes, it worked) and, oh no: the end with Meredith - Ha!

What an answered prayer! I have been praying each day and I am so thankful to hear the great report! Praise God!
i cannot believe you are sharing that picture from your pregnancy w/ lydia with the world!!!!
you are definitely the most honest person i know!!!! haha!
i can’t stop thinking about sweet baby shepherd and your good news today. that is much better news than free photoshop.
(which reminds me of the day that brian came home from work and said, “i have great news!” and i’m thinking “a raise!?” and he said, “i got a new computer at work!”) so i’m glad your great news WAS indeed great news!
love to all of you…. missing you tons.
i’ve been thinking about you alot lately and wondering how baby shephard was doing. i don’t check often and mostly b/c it’s hard for me to see all your beautiful children and not be jealous. but i am SO happy to hear this good news.
i have to say for such a skinny girl, you sure do get a good pregnant belly. that meredith one looks like you shoved a basketball under your shirt. too cute. me…i gained weight all over. this was supposed to be a compliment. i hope you took it that way.
This is such a blessing to hear. Thank you for letting us know.
And thanks for sharing the pictures! That first one is hilarious! But it looks like your tummy is the only part of you that gets big when you’re pregnant. That’s great!
Your comment on my blog was so encouraging! I love making stuff and sometimes feel like I’m just playing house (like I enjoy it too much or something). It would be so fun to live close to you guys–we could have craft night together where you teach me how to be a better quilter, and I teach you to knit! We hope to get a little closer to the East Coast one day, but probably no time soon. For now, you and I can at least inspire each other through blogland!
We have been praying for you and your family and are so glad to hear the relieving news!
God bless!
Rejoicing with you and blessed by your faith as you trusted God in His sovereignty!
Yay! I read your email last night and was SO EXCITED! I’m so glad Shepherd is doing well. We’ll keep praying for a healthy end to this pregnancy. See you this weekend!
Andy and I are so relieved and happy to hear your news about Shepherd!
Cute pics of your pregnant belly! You are so blessed to only gain weight in your belly!!! I’m STILL carrying weight from Eli and Caroline, 2 and a half years later!
That is such great news! Yay! (We had quite a bit of a scare with our most recent baby, too… but all was well.) Actually…we weren’t too scared, now that I think of it…but the doctors were.
Blessings on the rest of your pregnancy!
That is GREAT news about Shepherd!! We will continue praying for a healthy baby boy! What is your due date again?
Ok, so very strange after finally getting back to being able to read and update myself on what’s going on with the family - i can’t comment on certain posts?? Very wierd? So I kept hitting the comment button until it finally would let me - I am so happy to hear that Shepherd is doing well and happy & healthy! I have enjoyed reading up on all your posts and I so wish I could see Laura Story in Charleston - man that would be awesome!! I miss her music and talent so much! And now I can’t remember what I was going to write on other posts, but I’m glad to be able to read it again. Take Care, Love ya, Ann
