Sweat Shop

Just kidding - but since I’ll probably be more like a milk factory in a few months, I’m enjoying my time in the craft sweat shop. “Book nook” is making progress, and I finally finished the bed pillow for Lydia that I’ve promised her for weeks. I never knew that sewing could be so fun and rewarding; I wish I would’ve learned to sew when I was younger! I just learned yesterday how to make those “tucked and tied” pillow covers (great if you need to remove them) using a craft book, and they are really easy and an inexpensive way to make a room really homey, especially if you can find some marked-down fabric on clearance! I finished the little lettered signs and can’t wait to put them up once we paint the walls (we got 2 very STRONG shades of amber)! Making the “giant ottoman cover,” however, was a complete headache. I’ll never try to do that again unless I have some help! If I tried to do it again, I still wouldn’t know what to do. It was really confusing, and what I thought would take 2-3 hours took 6. Never again!

Your crafts look awesome! I’m not really a sewer myself, though I’ve worked at some quilts in the past. I’m more of a knitter (you can check out my knitting blog at http://kittenyarnsandcrafts.blogspot.com if you want).
Looks great!
