Bunyan Bit No. 7: Watchfulness

August 15th, 2008

The person who tries to keep water in a sieve must be extremely careful. Our heart is also a leaky container and therefore we need to pay close attention to the things we have heard, so they will not slip away when we aren’t noticing.

– John Bunyan, The Riches of Bunyan (p. 196)

I found you through your comment on Femina….my heart felt for you and I know EXACTLY what you are saying! I feel you sister!! I have a 5 week old and two weeks ago I was crying out to God confesses some of the same things. I hope you can give yourself a little more GRACE too..God just took your body through an amazing thing and you’re still adjusting. It makes me pretty whacky and I feel sad and weak one minute then angry the next with no outside provaction BUT throw in a few children and there is always provaction :) I will be praying for you this week and hope things will feel differently soon :)
