Water Birth
The kids were watching home water births on You Tube with me this morning, and I said as we started this one, “Oh, I love this song!” We kept watching, and I saw the dad’s Carolina hat and thought, “Oh, that’s neat… probably a birth somewhere near here…” then I noticed the blonde hair of the midwife and said, “Oh! That’s Mrs. Lisa! Mommy’s midwife for Meredith’s birth!” Then, a few seconds later, I saw the dark hair in a ponytail and said, “Oh! That’s Mrs. Brandy! Mommy’s midwife for Shepherd’s birth!” Ha! Ha!
That just got me so excited. I am officially full-term and okay for a home birth now, and we have our blue pool set up just like the one in this video. I can’t wait!
This is a sweet video (no gory stuff if you’re wondering); enjoy!

This was a great video, Kristi. I’m working on my CCE certification through Birthworks and I’m always interested to find birth videos that show good use of movement and positioning. Plus, this video really captures the concept that birth is a normal part of life. Even though it was still photos, rather than live video, I really sensed that this Mama was confident in her ability to birth her baby. Thanks for sharing.
Also, I remember recently how i originally came across your blog. It was from Jason Morehead’s blog (Opus Zine). Just curious how you know him? He and his wife live next door to my best friend and I used to go to church with them in NE. One more question–is your husband related to any S in NE?
God bless you as you await the arrival of your baby! I hope your homebirth is beautiful and joyful for you and your entire family.
I know, and the husband in the video reminded me of my Eric so much… so gentle, calm, supportive!
