When Counting Sheep Won’t Work…
Still no baby Shepherd, guys! I’m musing about that right now, but I will save that for another post…
Well, I didn’t anticipate finishing this site for many weeks from now, but it seems as though my final days of pregnancy have left me with several hours in the middle of the night for reading, eating, and doodling. A few days ago I finished the design for Palmetto Handmade. It was so much fun to design and code this. I really haven’t known what to do with myself the last several days with nothing pressing on my plate, so this was fun to just “do this” to escape from my middle-of-the-night insomnia!
I learned a lot on my last project, Craft Apple, a site I worked on in partnership with another designer and friend. We passed the code back and forth and spent many hours on the phone (she’s several states away) during the last few months, and I learned more about creating and running e-commerce sites. I’m still no pro by any means, but this gave me more motivation to sit down and think through the Palmetto Handmade design.
So now I’m waiting on a few friends to get me their merchant information and product details (it looks kind of funny with just me on there!), but it’s pretty much “finished.” I still think Etsy is probably one of the best ways to sell these kinds of things online, but the idea of “South Carolina - lovers” really appealed to me. We’ll see how it goes! I hope you’ll visit, perhaps sign up for the mailing list, and then add a button to your site or at least pass the link around to get the word out about this “South Carolina” shop!
How’s that for a shameless plug?
What else do you expect from not-so-subtle me?!

We should have called each other! I’m waiting the arrival of Shepherd with you. Try to rest when the little ones take their nap.
how odd that you would post this… i was just on your site last nite and on your etsy site.
The site looks great! I haven’t commented in a while as I have been crazy busy! Waiting the arrival for baby Shepherd, too…keep us posted!
Good luck and you are in our prayers!
Praying baby Shepherd makes his appearance soon! We love you and good luck!
Your site looks great! Nice, bright colors. I’m glad you were able to get it done, but I’m sure you’re ready to have your little one in your arms.
It looks great!!!! Where do you all find time for this? I have this same dream, but I can’t even stay on top of my daily chores and that’s only with two little people!
